## How a Chip Repair Visit Works

1.  **Photos first.** Send a close-up and a wider shot. We confirm it is repairable and quote the visit.
2.  **Clean and prep.** We clean the chip and remove loose material.
3.  **Colour match.** Resin is tinted on site to your colour and pattern.
4.  **Fill and cure.** The chip is filled slightly proud and cured.
5.  **Level and polish.** We level the repair and polish it to match the surrounding sheen.

## Repair or Replace?

## Preventing Chips

-   Choose eased or bullnose edges on busy runs; they resist chips better than sharp square edges.
-   Keep heavy cookware off the edge, especially near the sink.
-   Use trivets, because a heat spike can crack quartz near cutouts.
-   Avoid standing on counters to reach high cabinets.

A Cabbagetown homeowner had a 1-inch chip on the front edge of their Caesarstone 5110 Alpine Mist island where a cast-iron skillet had been dropped. The repair would normally cost $3,500+ to replace the full island piece. We mixed a colour-matched two-part epoxy on site, filled the chip in layers to match the stone's slight translucency, cured with a UV lamp, then re-polished the repaired section flush with the surrounding edge. Visible only if you know exactly where to look.
