Quartz Chip Repair in Toronto
Quartz countertops are tough, but a dropped cast-iron pan or a knock from a pot can still take a chip out of an edge. Across Toronto, from Kingsway homes in Etobicoke to Mississauga family kitchens, most of these chips do not need a new countertop. They need a careful, colour-matched repair done on site.
We repair chips, failed seams and dropped undermount sinks with the same Red Seal led team that fabricates quartz in our shop every day. We tint resin to your Caesarstone, Cambria or Hanstone colour, fill and polish the damage and leave a surface you can barely tell was touched. When the damage is too far gone, we tell you straight that replacement is the better spend.
What We Repair
| Problem | Repair | Typical result |
|---|---|---|
| Edge chip | Colour-matched resin fill and polish | Very hard to see |
| Corner chip | Resin build-up and reshaping | Close match |
| Opened seam | Clean out, re-glue with tinted epoxy | Flush seam |
| Dropped undermount sink | New clips and epoxy re-bond | Sink secure |
| Surface scratch | Light polish where possible | Reduced or removed |
| Through crack | Usually replace the section | We will advise |
How a Chip Repair Visit Works
- Photos first. Send a close-up and a wider shot. We confirm it is repairable and quote the visit.
- Clean and prep. We clean the chip and remove loose material.
- Colour match. Resin is tinted on site to your colour and pattern.
- Fill and cure. The chip is filled slightly proud and cured.
- Level and polish. We level the repair and polish it to match the surrounding sheen.
Kevin M. in The Kingsway had a Caesarstone edge chip by his sink filled and polished in under an hour for $700.
Repair or Replace?
Repair makes sense for chips, small seam failures and dropped sinks when the rest of the top is sound. Replacement makes sense when a crack runs through a section, when there is heat damage across a large area or when you want a new look anyway. See countertop replacement for how a one-day swap works.
Preventing Chips
- Choose eased or bullnose edges on busy runs; they resist chips better than sharp square edges.
- Keep heavy cookware off the edge, especially near the sink.
- Use trivets, because a heat spike can crack quartz near cutouts.
- Avoid standing on counters to reach high cabinets.
